Website for Ecosound Parents in Cardiff

A website, www.babysfirstplanet.com, has been set up in Cardiff for ecosound parents. It provides an entirely free service for people who register with the site (which is also free).

Babysfirstplanet aims to provide a place for people to recycle mother and children’s goods. It has only recently been 'live' but has already had 50 registrations and several swaps.

The swaps are currently centred around Cardiff but parents in other areas of Wales have requested that the services be made available – this is in the process of being developed.

There are also forums which promote the use of reusable nappies with links to sites that sell both new and used cloth nappies. The site is regularly updated with news and events.

The website has been personally funded, and developed by a voluntary web designer. The motivation for creating it was personal, ecological and ethical.
