AGM and Members' Conference - 19th & 20th September, Machynlleth

Delegates at the AGMOn 19-20 September, Cynnal Cymru-Sustain Wales and the Institute of Welsh Affairs jointly hosted Transformation Nation: Responding to Climate Change. The event, chaired by Cynog Dafis, attracted a list of high-profile speakers including George Monbiot, Sir John Houghton, Patrick Holden, Mark Lynas, Morgan Parry and Pete Segger.

Day one comprised of Cynnal Cymru's AGM and an evening address from George Monbiot followed on the second day by a programme of speakers exploring, in practical terms, the complex interactions between climate change and rural culture: from the global to the truly local.

The event, at the Tabernacl in Machynlleth, was attended by over 140 delegates over the 2 days. Read the summary of discussions.

New Board Members Appointed at the AGM

At this year's AGM, held in Machynlleth's Tabernacl, Cynnal Cymru-Sustain Wales members appointed 4 new company directors to the Board. The appointments followed a democratic election process over the summer.

Dr Einir Young (Social), Gareth Clubb (Social) and Dr Alan Netherwood (Sustainable Development) were newly elected with existing Board member Haf Roberts (Sustainable Development) retaining her seat. We'd like to welcome the new members to the Board on behalf of the Chair, the Board and staff.

Gwenan Davies, Catherine Hester and Dr Ruth Williams all stood down from the Board this year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank these individuals for their many years of hard work and commitment in developing Cynnal Cymru-Sustain Wales into a successful organisation.

Morgan Parry and Sue Price were re-elected by the Board as Chair and Company Secretary respectively.
