Life Change for a One Planet Wales: Our work on behaviour change

In May 2009 the Welsh Assembly Government published its sustainable development scheme, 'One Wales: One Planet,' and Cynnal Cymru-Sustain Wales welcomed its ambition to make Wales a 'One Planet' nation. If everyone on the earth lived as we do in Wales, we would need 2.7 planets worth of resources. And it is clear that the way we live must undergo significant changes if we are to achieve our 'One Planet' ambition to become a sustainable nation.
But how can we successfully encourage enough people to sign up to the idea of changing unsustainable behaviours and make sustainable lifestyle choices?
Given the urgency for change, it is important that everyone working to promote SD employs the most effective methods for engaging people and achieving change. To achieve this we need to share our experiences and our research (both within the sector and across sectors), so that everyone can learn from each other's mistakes and successes.
What is Cynnal Cymru-Sustain Wales doing to address this?
We have decided to support this exchange of knowledge and expertise and, to start the ball rolling, we have organised the following projects:
We have invited experts and practitioners from different organisations and sectors, to share their opinions on the topic of how to bring about social change and encourage lifestyle choices that will achieve a sustainable Wales. With reference to their own experiences and research, they present a variety of interesting and informative perspectives on the topic.
