Grab a Grant Programme Summary

The Big Lottery Fund has teamed up with the Wrexham Leader and Flintshire Leader to award up to £25,000 worth of grants to community groups in north Wales.

Under the banner Grab a Grant, this exciting partnership will see the Big Lottery Fund awarding grants of up to £5,000 each to projects in both areas which will help improve the lives of people in their local communities.

Through the pages of the newspapers, BIG is appealing for community groups to send in their applications before 24 August deadline. The newspapers will then showcase short listed projects with readers voting for their favourite by post. The five projects receiving the most support will then be awarded grants.

Grab a Grant is open to any community groups within Wrexham and Flintshire who have an idea for a project which does at least one of the following:

• supports community activity
• extends access and participation
• increases skill and creativity
• generally improves the quality of life of people in the area.
