Wales’ leading sustainable development organisation, Cynnal Cymru - Sustain Wales, has appointed David Fitzpatrick as its first Chief Executive. David, who is currently the Chief Executive of Hertfordshire-based SD Consultancy, will take up his appointment on 1 September 2012.
David has over thirty years’ experience of running organisations and has significant expertise in sustainable development and community development. Previously Chief Executive of Hertfordshire Community Foundation, his recent experience has focused on building sustainable communities by developing partnership work across the public, private and third sectors to create positive and lasting change.
Jeremy Sherrard-Smith, Chairman of not-for-profit, Cynnal Cymru, said:

His appointment comes at a time of success and ambition - Cynnal Cymru having recently secured a three-year Welsh Government contract. David brings with him a range of skills and experiences to lead the organisation. He is joining a knowledgeable and passionate team with a decade of experience and I am sure he will be a dynamic leader for sustainable development and a strong voice for Wales."
David Fitzpatrick said:
